 Professor Rules
« Thread Started on Aug 30, 2008, 7:35pm »

For those of you wishing to become a Professor this is where you need to come. Read through all of the rules very carefully so you know what you can and cannot do.

Professor Rules:

  • We have a list of some of the Professors that can be used in certain classes. The list that we have provided will be in the Canon Characters thread. Keep in mind those will be the only actual canon characters we allow from the books. If there is a class that does not have a specified name, you can make your own professor for that class.
  • Keep in mind if you wish to become a Professor, the application process might be a bit more strict then what the regular character application will be, only for the fact that we want to make sure members can at least sound qualified for the job. This means that you should try to go above and beyond what the applications asks. It's not necessary, but it is helpful.
  • Professors can remove and give House Points to any house they see, however this must be kept non-biased. Don't take away or give house points based on the houses and how you like and dislike them. Doing so will cost you your job.
  • If you take or give house points to a house, you must PM Kris Cross with the house, the number of points gained or deducted, and the reason. If it's not a good reason then they will not get the points. If you do not PM Kris Cross the house points will not be added or removed.
  • Each lesson lasts exactly two weeks. Keep this in mind when creating your schedule for each class, as it saves a bunch of trouble and time. Keep in mind the time limit you have per class so you can get in as much in each lesson as possible before the end of that two weeks. After two weeks the thread will be locked regardless of where the thread itself stands as far as roleplays. There will be week grace period to give professors time to relax before the next class is to begin.
  • At the beginning of each new class thread, you must post up a roster of the characters in that class. Try to take attendance using that roster. Once more students join and sign up for classes, an updated roster will be handed out to Professors. Keep in mind to make it easier, all school years will be in one class. Meaning you only need to make one thread for that lesson and everyone signed up for that class will reply.
  • Professor's can assign homework to their classes, however it will be your job to grade the assignments if you choose. You can reward/deduct house points for not completing the homework. However it must be about the lesson you're learning about in that thread, or something you've already learned about.
  • We encourage all Professors to create a syllabus for their class which would consist of expectations that students need to follow. Granted, this is not necessarily required, it's important for members to know what they can and can't do in each class.
  • If necessary Professors are allowed to hand out detentions, which they must PM both the party involved and Kris Cross with the reason for said detention, time of the roleplay, and who was involvd and will be in detention. This will help Kris Cross and other staff members keep track of certain things.
